PIDC provided design and construction services for a new high bay, chemical feedstock area, and catalytic oxidation equipment at Technip Energies’ Research Center in Weymouth, MA. The high bay and its highly specialized infrastructure have enabled Technip Energies’ to construct and operate scale chemical plants for pilot and demonstration purposes that previously could not fit into the existing building. The building is now home to a fluid bed reaction system designed to demonstrate a novel chemical process technology for licensing. It also accommodates unique separations equipment used to study and produce materials from recycled materials. Both plants are critical to Technip Energies’ focus on lowering the carbon footprint of conventional chemical process technologies and on developing novel technologies needed for a circular economy.
